Ulster County SPCA shares a happy update on the Yorkie rescued from a breeding case

The Ulster County SPCA is sharing a "Happy Tails" update about one of their rescue pups that came from a heartbreaking situation.

Ulster County SPCA Rescues Over 30 Dogs Found Stuffed in Crates

Back in August 2022, the Ulster County SPCA shared that their Humane Law Enforcement team rescued 44 small dogs from an awful backyard breading situation.

The Ulster County SPCA wrote in a statement in July 2026 "Do you remember the heartbreaking rescue of 44 Yorkies from an unsanitary backyard breeding operations in August 2022?"

They shared several photos from the rescue including this picture of a crate filled to the brim with small dogs:

After 4 years, we're getting an update on one of the dogs who has since found their forever home.

Happy Tail Update: Ulster County SPCA Rescued Yorkie Finds Forever Family

Recently, the team at the Ulster County SPCA ran into a family who adopted one of the rescued Yorkies.

The Ulster County SPCA shared a photo of London the dog. When London first arrived at the Ulster County SPCA she was "covered in painful matting, filthy with urine and feces, she was a miserable pup.

Now, London is living like a royal. The Ulster County SPCA team ran into London while she was shopping with her forever family in Petco.

Justice Served: Yorkie Abuser Sentenced to Jail

In the Happy Tail update the Ulster County SPCA also shares an update on what happened to the owner of the 44 Yorkies that were found in deplorable conditions.

According to the Facebook post the former owner was caught and "sentenced in 2025 to two years in jail, fines and an unprecedented, LIFETIME BAN on owning animals!"

The Ulster County SPCA says this was one of their most "successfully prosecuted cases" and they went on to thank the Ulster County Sheriff's Department and Ulster County District Attorney's Office.
